JSIS Engineering manufactures Drive Through Curtains, Butcher’s Flaps, Finger Sheets and other FRAS-certified products compliant with MDG 3608 standards for the underground mining industry.
Our in-house casting ovens produce curtains and sheets up to 2900mm wide x 3900mm long and 5mm+ thick, allowing for large orders and quick turnaround.
Curtains and sheets are made to custom specifications — clear or pigmented, solid or fingered for personnel access. Options include steel or wire reinforcement, custom hanging brackets, Class 1 reflective stickers, or magnet fittings for flexible installation.

JSIS Engineering (JSIS) manufactures Dust Suppression Spray Bars that meet MDG 3608 Fire Resistant Anti Static (FRAS) standards for underground mining.
As part of the mining industry’s push for safer environments, JSIS has collaborated with major mining houses to design and build efficient, durable, and effective dust suppression systems. Notably, in 2017–2018 JSIS partnered with Anglo American’s Grasstree Mine to create a custom spray bar system, earning a Mining Safety Award for improving on-site safety.
JSIS spray bars are available in various shapes and configurations — including flat fan, cone, and air atomising sprays — delivering full dust curtains or water walls. Each unit features polyurethane encapsulation to shield internal piping from corrosion and impact, with pressure ratings from 1000–5000 kPa for extreme conditions.
Our designs can include rare earth magnetic mounts for strong, flexible installation or custom moulded plates for specific applications. The result: robust, long-lasting spray bars that outperform conventional systems across mining and industrial sites.

JSIS Engineering (JSIS) manufactures polyurethane (PU) tread plates that comply with the MDG 3608 for Fire Resistant Anti-Static (FRAS) certified products for the underground mining industry.
Working closely with our underground mining clients, our latest integrated tread plate design has changed the way the PU Roof Chock Treads are fixed to the steel plates. This change has reduced the potential of coal and foreign material imbedding itself between the PU treads and the steel plates, which has mitigated the potential for trip hazards. This new design also allows us to pour PU to the very outer edge of the treads and in turn has increased the tread plate grips across the entire surface of the roof chick.
Using the same priming process as our Pulley and Rollers, we have been able to see extremely high adhesion rates which also increases the service life of the treads as they have become less exposed to other elements by being supplied as a fully sealed component.

JSIS Engineering’s dump valves are custom designed for specific applications and supplied across pipeline sizes from 80NB to 250NB. Commonly used in Coal Handling and Preparation Plants (CHPPs), they’re installed on sump pump discharge lines to help clear blockages, or on suction lines to assist sump drainage during maintenance. The valves now feature a stainless steel frame in place of galvanised steel for better corrosion resistance, and a high-grade polyurethane seal in place of rubber for improved wear resistance. A simplified design with fewer moving parts reduces maintenance and downtime, delivering greater reliability, longer service life, and lower servicing costs.
Dragline Bucket Rest Pads reduce worker fatigue by eliminating ground-level work, while improving efficiency and minimising downtime. Our certified pad has a 50-tonne WLL and sits beneath the front of the bucket to lift the teeth clear of the ground, enabling safer access for tooth replacement during maintenance and shutdowns. It’s built with a structural steel core encased in high-grade polyurethane, which reduces steel-on-steel slip risk and protects the internal structure for longer service life. Integrated lifting and towing points at both ends allow for safe, efficient handling and positioning.
